Pardubice - The new zoning plan for Pardubice is likely to be approved by the representatives at the turn of 2025 and 2026. The document is awaiting its second public discussion in the middle of the year. The city has been preparing it since 2010. René Živný (Žijeme Pardubice), the Deputy Mayor, told ČTK.
"It's a shame that it has taken so long to release the zoning plan. I won't present the zoning plan to the representatives out of the blue. Recently we had a presentation on how far we are with the preparation," said Živný, who has been in charge of the zoning plan since 2022.
The updated version of the document will guide the spatial development of the city in the coming years. The zoning plan is the first document that people must consult if they want to find out for what purposes a particular plot of land can be used.
During the preparation of the new zoning plan, representatives receive informative reports, and before its release, the deputy wants to meet again with representatives of political clubs to familiarize them with the content of the document, he stated. "Then there shouldn't be a huge discussion about it at the council," said Živný.
The second public discussion of the zoning plan is expected to take place by the summer holidays. During the first discussion, hundreds of comments were gathered, and it takes a long time to address them, said Živný. "We are trying to deal with them diligently so that we are well prepared for the second meeting, so it doesn't take so much time. We will then present the zoning plan to the representatives at the turn of 2025 and 2026," said Živný.
The deputy expects that after the release of the new document, people will soon request changes to it, which is quite common and has happened in the past. The current zoning plan, valid since 2001, has over twenty amendments, and their discussions can sometimes be lengthy. "I think there will be many requests for changes," said Živný.
