Jevíčko – The Pardubice region continues with modifications to the premises of the Specialized Treatment Institute in Jevíčko in the Svitavy area. For approximately ten million crowns, they will repair the parking lot and the associated road, the regional office stated in a press release. Additionally, for around 30 million crowns, the region is preparing to modernize the institute's catering operation.
Construction work on the parking lot will begin on July 7. It includes the construction of new parking spaces and a complete reconstruction of the connected road within the institute's premises. The project also includes the restoration of the subsoil, drainage, adjustments to the surrounding terrain, and landscaping, including planting greenery. The parking lot will primarily serve patients, visitors, and staff of the treatment institute, as well as other users of adjacent buildings.
This initiative follows this year's completed revitalization of the historical park. Its original structure was restored with the help of a European grant after more than 100 years. The costs reached approximately 6.5 million crowns.
The Pardubice region is also preparing to modernize the institute's catering operation. The project involves a complete renewal of the catering technology, construction adjustments, and modernization of the technical background including new air technology with recuperation, adjustments of storage areas and receiving of goods. The regional office expects to receive a grant of about 11 million crowns from the Operational Program Environment for this project.
In recent years, the region has funded the modernization of the boiler room, replacement of energy distribution systems, repairs of historical wooden lounges, conversion of the former children's pavilion into a respiratory rehabilitation pavilion, roof repairs, energy-saving measures in the catering operation, or insulation of the pavilion.
The treatment institute in Jevíčko has been in existence since 1916, initially serving as a tuberculosis treatment center. Between 1918 and 1926, the main building with lounges was completed, along with its connection via corridors to the kitchen and dining hall building. Later, another separate treatment pavilion, staff residential buildings, economic buildings, and a chapel were constructed. In 1940, the so-called Forest Pavilion was created for patients with milder forms of the disease. From 1946 to 1950, an operating room, doctors' offices, and additional residential buildings for staff were constructed. Approximately 2,000 patients with pulmonary diseases or mobility issues are treated annually at the institute.
