Jevíčko – The Pardubice Region wants to continue with the repairs of the Specialized Treatment Institute in Jevíčko. The council has announced a tender for the reconstruction of the inpatient section of Pavilion S. The estimated value of the contract is 51.3 million crowns including VAT, said Dominik Barták, the spokesperson for the regional council, in a press release.
In previous years, the region has invested nearly 100 million crowns in the institute for wooden beds, the transformation of the former children’s pavilion into a pulmonary rehabilitation pavilion, repairs to the roof of the dining pavilion, and the insulation of Pavilion S. The latest project envisages the renovation of the interior. Every modernized room will have new sanitary facilities, and there will also be improvements to the technical and operational support for the staff. At the same time, the construction company will also repair the roof of the pavilion.
The Specialized Treatment Institute in Jevíčko, whose buildings were built between 1913 and 1926, has been a cultural monument since 2016. Therefore, it will be necessary to preserve valuable interior elements during the reconstruction. The region aims to secure funding from the European REACT EU program for co-financing the renovation.
The Jevíčko Institute is a contributory organization of the Pardubice Region and provides healthcare services in the field of pulmonary diseases, pulmonary and movement rehabilitation, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. It has 176 beds for patient hospitalization and also a complex of specialized outpatient clinics and examination rooms in the fields of provided care. Currently, it is also treating patients recovering from COVID-19. The region is trying to improve the economic balance, which has been disrupted by a decrease in regular rehabilitation services due to the suspension of planned surgeries, through testing and vaccination. The institute is one of the vaccination centers.
