Prague - Among the finalists of this year's Construction of the Year competition are, for example, the Prague Proton Center, the multifunctional auditorium Gong in Vítkovice, and the Královopolský road tunnel in Brno. A total of 16 buildings made it to the final of the 21st edition. The final nominations were announced today by ABF - the Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction, which organizes the competition.
Just like in previous years, this year's edition is open to all objects, regardless of the type of building or the costs incurred for its acquisition. The condition for entering the competition was completion and commissioning or approval during the period from June 2012 to this May.
This year, 54 projects applied. The title will ultimately be awarded to five objects without distinguishing the order. They will be selected by a jury led by architect Radomíra Sedláková. The announcement of the results will take place on October 10 in the Senate during the seventh edition of the Days of Construction and Architecture.
