Pasohlávky - One of the largest Czech water parks, Aqualand Moravia in Pasohlávky in the Brno region, is set to expand by 2.5 hectares this year and next, which is half of the current area. A significant portion will be dedicated, as per visitors' wishes, to a water world for smaller children, as they cannot access most attractions. The first part of the expanded area is expected to open next summer, said the director of the water park, Petr Pavlacký, to ČTK.
Furthermore, a relaxation area is planned, along with a long waterslide that will allow for partially uphill rides thanks to water currents. "It will be possible to ride on multiple rafts. We were inspired by leading water parks around the world," said Pavlacký.
So far, the management of the water park has completed an architectural study and is working on project preparations to enable construction to begin this year. The expansion of the area will cost several hundred million crowns. "Given the suitable climatic conditions, it is possible to keep the outdoor area open for up to five months a year," said Pavlacký. The outdoor area has already been expanded in the past, and last year also marked the first year of the hotel opening. The water park has been in operation since the summer of 2013.
Last year, it maintained visitor numbers from 2015, totaling 700,000 people. The proportion of visitors from Austria significantly increased from 12 percent to 20. The same number came from Slovakia, with the remaining visitors coming from the Czech Republic. "We also welcome people from Vienna. We strive to keep our services and attraction offerings at such a level that they return regularly," added Pavlacký.
