Brno - The Brno skyscraper AZ Tower, which will become the tallest building in the Czech Republic in February, is attracting interest. Clients are signing up for the remaining apartments in the top six floors. Only one will be available for sale in February, Jiří Teplý from the company Properity, which is one of the project investors, told ČTK.

People are willing to pay millions for the apartments. Prices per square meter in the upper floors of the skyscraper range from 65,000 to 70,000 crowns. According to Teplý, they are primarily purchased by individuals.
Builders are now finishing the interiors. Many buyers are having their design done by their own architect. "The buyer receives a high standard in the price, but often, potential buyers want their own architects to propose atypical solutions," Teplý said.
The skyscraper, which will boast several technical curiosities, will not include wind turbines at its top, contrary to the original plan. Among the approached suppliers, no one had experience with wind turbines at a height of 111 meters above the ground.
"Moreover, no one was able to guarantee a solution to prevent the blades from icing and to avoid ice shedding. Unfortunately, this is why we had to reject this technology," Teplý stated.
The skyscraper now measures 104 meters, gaining another seven meters with the installation of a steel structure at the top of the building. The building has a total of 30 floors. It is scheduled to be completed in April according to the original plan. It will open to tenants after the approval in the summer.
Currently, the tallest building in the Czech Republic is the office tower City Tower in Prague's Pankráci. It measures 109 meters and has 27 above-ground floors. The company ECM completed the building in 2008, and according to the latest available data, the investment amounted to approximately 90 million euros.
