Brno - Representatives of the South Moravian Region will today sign a contract with Chinese partners for the sale of land in Pasohlávky for the construction of a spa complex. The land, sold by Thermal Pasohlávky for a price of around 380 million without VAT, was established in the past by the South Moravian Region and the municipality of Pasohlávky. The purchasing company, RiseSun, plans to build a spa complex worth more than one billion korunas on the site.

The contract signing will be attended by Governor Bohumil Šimek (ANO) and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Jianmin. The establishment of a spa in Pasohlávky has been discussed for many years. Therefore, the region established the company Thermal Pasohlávky with the municipality, which built the necessary infrastructure for the spa. Negotiations with the Chinese about the specific project for the complex began during the previous county leadership of the ČSSD and KDU-ČSL.

The new regional leadership, headed by the ANO movement, considered two options. One was the establishment of a joint venture between the region and RiseSun and the joint construction of the spa, while the other was the sale of land to a potential investor. The region decided on the second option as it sees immediate value appreciation in the sale. The Chinese then expressed interest as the sole buyers.

In addition to the spa complex to be built by the Chinese, the region wants to construct a smaller treatment facility with a capacity of 160 beds at its own expense. The area has been rapidly expanding in recent years. There is an aquapark, a hotel, and the Merkur caravan park on the shore of the Novomlýnské reservoirs.
