Náchod is looking for a company for the completion of the spa, and wants it finished by September

Náchod - The town of Náchod has announced a competition for a construction company for the completion of the under-construction project of the Small Spa with a colonnade in the Běloves district. The estimated price of the contract is 11.85 million crowns excluding VAT. Interested parties have until February 28 to submit their offers. Jan Čtvrtečka (ČSSD), the deputy mayor, said this to ČTK. The construction of the spa was started in the fall of the previous year by the company Green Project. The construction was brought to just under half completion, but it was unable to finish. The company handed back the construction site in the form of a rough structure to the town at the end of last year.

According to Čtvrtečka, the new company could start work in March. Everything could be completed within six months, around September. This would mean almost a year of delay compared to the original schedule. The 13-million-euro European grant that the town received for the construction is not jeopardized by the pushed deadline. The town has imposed a contractual penalty of over a million crowns on the Green Project company. According to Čtvrtečka, the company has not yet paid it.

The construction of the Small Spa is the first step in the renewal of spa services in Náchod after more than 20 years. The project, worth around 20 million crowns, involves the restoration and utilization of the historical area of the Small Spa. The town hall has already found a new source of mineral water for the spa in the municipal plots in the Běla and Jan drill sites.

The center of the renovated Small Spa area will be a replica of the original first-republic villa Komenský, which will feature an exhibition on the history of spa treatment and a café. A new colonnade with a mineral spring from the new drill sites is also expected to be built next to it. Builders will also install outdoor balneotherapy elements.

The location of the Small Spa is located about half a kilometer in a straight line from the main spa complex, which is in private hands and has been closed and deteriorating since 1996. This complex is also expected to have a better future. Two years ago, the new owner of the complex became the Prague company IDA SpaMed, which subsequently declared an interest in restoring the spa.
