Pardubice - Pardubice is launching a geoportal in March with information about unused industrial areas. The pilot project will provide investors with comprehensive data. Initially, the database will feature the first 14 locations. This was stated by the deputy mayor Jan Řehounek (ANO). "We believe that we will be able to attract investors and that the neglected sites will receive a new and better face thanks to them," said the deputy. The portal will include all urban brownfields, the former military area Hůrka, the former Tesla factory on Kyjevská Street, Masaryk Barracks, and the area of the summer stadium. In addition, the city is mapping locations that do not belong to it. "This concerns, for example, five locations in Semtín or the areas of the former distillery and the former Prokopka on Palackého Street, as well as unused space on Milheimova Street," said Hana Svobodová, head of the external relations department of the city hall. The city will eventually add about another ten unused industrial sites owned by private individuals to the database. The portal will offer information about ownership, location, area, transport connections, and the original use of the site. In many cases, the city has access to cadastral maps, development studies, visualizations, or geological surveys.
