Nomination for the awarding of the Opava Prize of Josef Maria Olbrich known

The Civic Association Za Opavu has announced nominations for the Opava Award for Josef Maria Olbrich for quality architectural achievement for a new building realized in the Opava region in 2011-2012. By the deadline for proposals, the association Za Opavu received a total of 13 suggestions for the award. Out of these proposals, a total of 9 projects met the criteria and were nominated for the J. M. Olbrich award.

Interested parties will be able to view the nominated buildings from April 3 to May 19, 2013, at an exhibition in the Library of Petr Bezruč (Nádražní okruh 27, Opava), where they will also have the opportunity to participate in a voting poll for the best new building among the voting public. In parallel with this voting, the public can also vote through a poll on the website of the association Za Opavu.

The results and evaluations of the expert jury will be known by April 2, 2013. In case the jury decides to award a prize or honorable mention to any of the nominated projects, this will be done on the opening day of the exhibition at the Library of Petr Bezruč (Nádražní okruh 27, Opava). The event will take place on April 3, 2013, starting at 4 PM.

For this year's edition, the following members were appointed to the expert jury:
Ing. arch. Milena Vitoulová, member of the board of the Czech Chamber of Architects
Mgr. Martin Strakoš, art historian and expert worker in heritage care
prof. PhDr. et PaedDr. Jindřich Vybíral, CSc., art and architecture historian
prof. akad. soch. Jan Ambrůz, head of the sculpture studio at FaVU VUT in Brno
Dr. Martin Klimeš, art critic, curator of the House of Art in Opava,
MgA. Tomáš Skalík, sculptor and restorer
Mgr. Dalibor Halátek, art historian
