The exhibition hall is located in the author's hometown, near his birthplace, in a building of the former school from 1888, in spaces previously used by the Municipal Library.

Open: Wednesday 1 PM – 5 PM, Sunday 2 PM – 4 PM

About the exhibition:

The exhibition was created in close collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno and the Museum of the City of Brno, under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Ing. Arch. Jiří Palacký, Ph.D.

Local citizens, representatives, the owner of the castle, exhibition partners, students, and educators from the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno participated in its preparation.

The main idea of the exhibition is to provide a permanent reminder of the legacy of Bohuslav Fuchs in his hometown and to highlight the significance of his native, modest, and picturesque region for the author’s inspiration, diligence, perseverance, and hard work through which he managed to establish himself.

The exhibition is spatially divided into 3 interconnected parts:
Exhibition Hall, Study Center, and MicroCinema

.

In terms of content, the exhibition is further divided into 7 sections:
– Exhibition panels documenting the life and multifaceted works of the architect and artist illustrated by 16 selected works with expert commentary.
– Haptic - matte architectural models, made from composite cement-based material, providing the public and visually impaired individuals with a better idea of the size, shape, and complexity of the five most significant buildings of Bohuslav Fuchs realized in the Czech Republic.
– A plaster head, created by the Brno sculptor, architect, and educator, Assoc. Prof. Ing. Arch. Zdeněk Makovský.
– Valuable books and monographs dedicated to the work and life of the versatile architect and artist in a local and international context.
– Accompanying books documenting, through historical photographs, not only the life of Bohuslav Fuchs but also his artistic, creative, and architectural activities. Included is a catalog of works, a bibliography, study and theoretical texts, and a book of models documenting the analysis of the plasticity of the external form and internal spatial relationships of five selected buildings.
– Audiovisual presentation, which includes an interactive guide to the life and work of Bohuslav Fuchs in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with recordings of interviews with witnesses, former colleagues, descendants of Bohuslav Fuchs, the owner of Hotel Radun, architects, and art and architecture historians.
– Pioneer furniture pieces by Bohuslav Fuchs from the residential house for the writer Jakub Deml in Tasov near Třebíč.

Individual exhibits are accompanied by a rich visual presentation consisting of archival and contemporary photographs, documents, plans, films, audio recordings, etc. The exhibition is primarily dedicated to the professional public, but it is intentionally designed in such a way that its content and visual component will certainly attract a wider lay audience.
