Milan - The Czech pavilion at the Expo 2015 exhibition, currently taking place in Milan, Italy, is likely to be relocated to Vizovice after its conclusion. Recently, Brno has also shown interest, said Stanislav Martinec, the managing director of Koma Modular. The building was constructed by the Vizovice company using a unique system of 50 independent modules. "We definitely want to transport the pavilion back to the Czech Republic, and we would prefer Moravia. Although there are several options on the table, there is a good chance that it will end up with us at the company," Martinec hinted about the future of the pavilion. He pointed out that private investors are also interested and recently Brno has made inquiries as well. On the other hand, the option for the pavilion to remain in Italy has, according to Martinec, fallen through. "At the beginning, there was interest, but when we clearly said that we wanted to move it back to the Czech Republic, the interest faded," he added. The Vizovice company is currently negotiating for the existing exhibitions to remain part of the building. It is also considering creating a kindergarten from five to six modules on the ground floor. "If the pavilion were with us, we would modify it to ensure it continues to have a purpose. Because when we saw how some pavilions from previous exhibitions ended up, we thought it was a great pity. With us, there would be certainty that we would take care of it," Martinec added. The construction of the Czech pavilion is unique in that it is essentially a prefabricated structure made up of 50 modules. These were transported to Italy on about 20 trucks. After the exhibition, they can be disassembled again, transported elsewhere, and repurposed. Nothing will remain on-site. Several countries, including Slovakia, Vietnam, and Estonia, have expressed interest in this type directly in Milan. Representatives from several Italian companies have also approached the Vizovice firm.
