Design of a modular kindergarten in Rychnov near Jablonec (KOMA MODULAR CONSTRUCTION s.r.o.)
Jihlava - The city of Jihlava wants to build a new kindergarten with a capacity for 100 children by the start of the next school year. It is planned to be located on Za Prachárnou street near a care home. The city hall is being pushed to build not only by an increased birth rate but also by the technical condition of some buildings that no longer meet hygienic standards. Even though the capacity of kindergartens will increase, over 400 places will still be lacking in 2010. This was stated today by the Deputy Mayor Radek Vovsík.

This summer, two kindergarten classrooms for 50 children were created by renovating the ground floor of the primary school on Nad Plovárnou street. However, according to Vovsík, adapting other primary schools would be problematic and expensive. "The construction of modular kits shows to be the quickest and relatively inexpensive method, with costs around ten million crowns," Vovsík said.
The city should prepare and provide utilities for the land, and the company will then assemble the building during the holidays. According to city hall spokesman Radek Tulis, the city hall selected from several locations. "In this part of the city, there is dense construction, and the location is connected to public transport," Tulis noted.
Next year during the holidays, reconstruction of the kindergarten at Březinova 113 with a capacity for 100 children, which has inadequate hygienic conditions, is also set to begin. "The work will take about six months, and the kindergarten will be closed. Of the 100 children, 40 will move on to the first grades of primary schools, and the remaining children will be temporarily divided into other kindergartens with an exception," Vovsík said.
Jihlava manages two kindergartens with a total capacity of 1311 places. In addition to the Mozaika school with 17 workplaces, it also has the Demlova Kindergarten and Special Pedagogical Center with a capacity for 142 children. The kindergarten provides care for children with visual, mental, physical, hearing, and speech disabilities, children with multiple disabilities, and children with autism spectrum disorders. According to Vovsík, the new kindergarten Za Prachárnou will likely be integrated under the special kindergarten.
