Brno - The Brno skyscraper AZ Tower will become the tallest building in the country only in February. The installation of the building's final tip will be delayed by about two months compared to the original plan. The construction workers are waiting for better weather; in the meantime, they are focusing on interior work. Petr Teplý from the Properity company, one of the project's investors, told CTK today. The skyscraper currently stands at 104 meters, gaining another seven meters with the installation of a steel structure at the top of the building. The building has a total of 30 floors. It is expected to be completed in April as originally planned. It will be opened to tenants after completion in the summer. "So far, we have rented out more than half of the space," Teplý stated. Out of 17 residential apartments, only two are still available. The largest one, a duplex apartment measuring 330 square meters, has already been sold for 16 million crowns excluding VAT and will be located on the 28th and 29th floors. The builders are currently working on garages, offices, apartments, and the building's atrium. A commercial arcade will be created on the first to third floors, including a restaurant and a fitness center covering 1,350 square meters, as well as a car dealership with a service center. The other floors will be occupied by offices. The top thirtieth floor will house technical facilities. There will be parking for 275 cars in two underground levels. The entire construction is expected to cost 800 million crowns. AZ Tower is set to measure 111 meters and will thus become the tallest building in the country. The tallest building in the Czech Republic so far is the City Tower office building in Prague's Pankrác, measuring 109 meters with 27 above-ground floors. The ECM company completed the building in 2008, and according to the latest available data, the investment amounted to about 90 million euros.
