At today's press conference of the Architects' Association, organized by GPA – the National Architecture Award, 50 projects that advanced to the final round were presented. This year, in the XXIX. edition of the largest architectural showcase, the Grand Prix Architects – National Architecture Award, 255 architectural projects were submitted.
Also this year, the submitted works are evaluated by an international jury composed of prominent figures in the field of architecture:

Chairman of the jury
Jean-Pierre Carniaux - FRANCE, studio Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (RBTA)

Other members
Robert Schmitz - SWEDEN, studio White Architects
Martin Rein-Cano - GERMANY, studio TOPOTEK 1
Michal Bogár - SLOVAKIA, studio BOGÁR architektizde
Eva Le Peutrec - CZECH REPUBLIC, studio E-STUDIO

The selected projects were submitted in the following categories:
New Construction - 16 projects
Single-Family House - 8 projects
Renovation - 12 projects
Interior - 6 projects
Landscape Architecture and Garden Design - 3 projects
Urban Planning - 1 project
Architectural Design, Small Architecture, and Artwork in Architecture - 4 projects

The chairman of the Architects' Association stated regarding the jury's work: “The jurors evaluate the works independently from each other and each has only one vote. Therefore, the project must truly convince the juror and receive a vote from at least three or four of them."

"What has succeeded recently in the Grand Prix is the presentations of the projects. The presentations have completely shuffled the rankings. Those who had five votes after the first round and looked like winners did not receive awards after the presentations. It is very interesting to see how architects are capable - or incapable - of presenting their designs, given that they have ten minutes to explain their idea. Sometimes that is painfully little."

"The jury made its decision on September 12. However, it can already be said that there are not many proposals in Prague, there aren’t many in Brno either, and there’s little to the west and south of Bohemia. Projects have moved to the north toward Liberec, mainly to northern Moravia and also to the border with Slovakia. That is something that has never happened before. And the jury must see the building, so jurors will have quite a bit of traveling ahead of them."
The president of UIA, of which the Architects' Association is a founding member, José Luis Cortéz, praised the work of the members of the Architects' Association at the press conference: “I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the members of the Architects' Association in the Czech Republic. We are very proud to have such skilled architects in the International Union, and I appreciate the level of the Grand Prix as well. I think it was very difficult for the jurors to choose the winning projects, but it is our task to show the world the best architecture. We must support good architects, for a better and more beautiful planet; it is our responsibility and duty. So my message and wish to everyone is: Create good architecture."

The Architects' Association, which is the organizer of GPA – the National Architecture Award, and the company GROHE are already holding the 4th edition of the Grand Prix Architects Festival, which will take place on November 7, 2022, at the Trade Fair Palace. During this festival, presentations of 50 selected projects will take place, from which the jury will select the final projects in each category and the main award GPA – the National Architecture Award 2022 in the second round of evaluation.
