Brno - The tallest building in Brno will have 20 floors and will reach 80 meters. The highest building in the city so far was the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Brno University of Technology, which measured 74 meters. However, by the end of next year, it will be surpassed by a building that will be constructed by the developer CTP Invest in the area of Spielberk Office Centre near the center of Brno. CTP Invest has already invested ten billion crowns in Brno and plans to invest another eight billion in the coming years, said the company's director Remon Leonard Vos to journalists today. The tallest building in the Czech Republic is the former building of Czechoslovak Radio in Prague at Pankrác, standing at 109 meters.

CTP Invest is one of the largest landowners in Brno and its vicinity. It owns at least 120 hectares and is interested in acquiring more land. Close to the city center, it began construction of the Spielberk Office Center complex two years ago. The entire complex is expected to cost about 4.2 billion crowns. Currently, it offers 55,000 square meters of office space, which is about 80 percent filled, with the center having 25 tenants.
The pair of buildings that will complement the nine existing pavilions will have a usable area of 18,000 square meters. The twenty-story office building will be accompanied by a sixteen-story four-star hotel.
Currently, the construction of several hundred thousand square meters of office space is planned in Brno. Most of the completed complexes are not fully occupied. Experts repeatedly warn of a potential oversupply compared to demand. Near Spielberk, an eleven-story hotel is expected to rise next year.
However, developers do not fear a lack of interest. Therefore, construction of additional administrative buildings will begin this year. Owners of Brno Business Park and Vienna Point in the southern part of the city are planning to double their expansion. The South Business Center, which combines offices, warehouses, and manufacturing spaces, is also expected to be built nearby.
The same focus is also reflected in CTP's project in a 15-hectare area of the former Starch Factory near the Zvonařka train station. The Dutch developer owns about 38 hectares in the Černovická terasa industrial zone and an entire 43-hectare industrial park in Modřice. The company is now also preparing a zone in Šlapanice, which is expected to cover over 100 hectares.

CTP Invest plans to invest about 12.6 billion crowns in the Czech Republic this year
Brno - The development company CTP Invest will invest around 12.6 billion crowns in the Czech Republic this year. About 80 percent of the investments will go to Brno, Ostrava, and Plzeň. In total, the company will utilize around 100 hectares of land, said Remon Leonard Vos, director of CTP Invest, to journalists today. The Dutch company currently owns around a hundred buildings along with land worth over one billion euros (about 28 billion crowns), with another 650 hectares of its land still vacant.
CTP Invest is a leader in the Czech industrial real estate market, owning and operating 22 industrial parks covering several hundred hectares. It also builds offices and retail spaces. In the properties it has constructed in the Czech Republic, around 10,000 employees work. "In the next two years, this number should triple," Vos stated. This year, the company also aims to invest in manufacturing halls and warehouses, as well as in office and retail spaces.
Mainly, it wants to continue with ongoing projects, including the former Starch Factory area in Brno, where offices, halls for light manufacturing, and warehouses are expected to arise for about three billion crowns.
Thus far, about a third of CTP's investments have been made in Brno, where it is one of the largest private landowners. "It is a very interesting place for us; we notice it is becoming an important center, and therefore we want to be a part of it," explained Vos. In addition to three industrial zones and the area of the Starch Factory, the company operates the Spielberk administrative center. It will be home to the tallest building in Brno, a twenty-story office building.
The company also has plans for a high-rise building in Ostrava. Northern Moravia has become a frequent location for CTP's investments lately. The company operates a 120-hectare park directly in Ostrava and is planning the construction of a zone in Lipník nad Bečvou this year. Recently, the company purchased the Hranice plant for the production of traditional television screens, Multidisplay, which was previously LG.Philips Displays, for 1.12 billion.
