Prague - The reconstruction around the C subway station Ládví in Prague 8 could be funded by the capital city. The preliminary amount is around 28 million crowns. This was stated by the Deputy Mayor Petr Dolínek (CSSD). The Prague 8 municipality would then cover the value-added tax. Prague 8 plans a complete reconstruction of the entire square by the subway station, and the first phase of the work could begin next year. The repairs are expected to be completed in 2018.
"This concerns the modification of the exit from the subway station and thus involves the cultivation of the public space around it, so Prague is prepared to financially assist Prague 8 with the reconstruction," said Dolínek.
The exact amount of how much the revitalization will cost is not yet clear, but according to the projects available to the municipality, costs are expected to be around 30 million. However, the final amount will be known following the outcome of a potential tender, which Prague 8 would like to announce by the end of this year. "We have agreed that as part of the financing, the municipality will pay the VAT," said Dolínek.
The first phase of the work could begin next year. A new pavement will be laid in the square, benches and bins will be added, as well as greenery. According to the plan, a marketplace is also to be created. The work is to be completed in 2018.
